China Article Intro, Thoughts?
I’m writing a new article on China and thought I’d share the first draft of the opening paragraph:
Recently, as always, China has dominated a significant portion of the news cycle. Trade deals, tariffs, export controls, AI chips, rare earths and critical minerals, the CCP is not suffering for a lack of our attention. Warranted attention. Because China is undoubtedly a chief adversary of the United States, a facilitator of subversion against our efforts towards security and prosperity for the American people. But there is a growing movement within America to wave away the very real danger that China poses, both economically and militarily. Recent events have shown a weakening of posture from America towards China, as we appear to prioritize our short-term economic security over our national security. Our recent “victories” in trade deals have seen us celebrating the treading of familiar ground and sacrificing common sense securities as the price. Amidst these developments, big business lobbies are pushing for their own profits, once again at the expense of national security precautions. Preaching on the impending doom launched by geopolitical rivals has been sensationalized by an insomniac mass media, but in the case of China it is beyond doubt that exaggeration is understatement, and America is facing a serious, all-encompassing, existential threat. But don’t just take my word for it.
